Zack Abrams, Sr., age 82, of 2828 North Columbia Street died Wednesday, July 4, 2007 in a Macon health care facility.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Saint Paul Baptist Church on Meriweather Road with the Rev. Hillman Graves officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Abrams was born in Putnam County to the late Nelson Abrams, Jr. and the late Florine Hurt Abrams. He was a life long resident of Milledgeville. He was a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church, serving on the usher board and the treasurer of the Morning Star Lodge. He was employed with Dixon Wood Company of Baldwin County for several years, but retired from Kendall McGraw Company in 1986. He attended the public schools of Putnam and Baldwin Counties.

Survivors include two sons, Zack Abrams, Jr. and wife Vivian, and Anthony Abrams and wife Sharon, both of Milledgeville; four daughters, Evelyn Watson, Julia Abrams and husband Wilbert, Florine Abrams Ross, and Bernice Broadus and husband Edward, all of Milledgeville; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Juanita Bendford Abrams of Atlanta; three brothers, Nelson Abrams, III, Leroy Abrams and wife Julia Ann, both of Milledgeville, Otis Abrams and wife Joyce of Lithonia; five sisters, Rosie McGee, Mary Branch and husband Roy of Chicago, Ill., Gloria Waller and husband Willie Lee, and Carolyn Abrams, all of Milledgeville, and Frances Grimes of Macon; a sister-in-law, Linda Abrams of Marshallville; devoted friends, Lillie Johnson of Milledgeville, Grady and Joe Huff of Chicago, Ill; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
