Milledgeville, Ga - Teresa Thornton of Milledgeville, Georgia, left us earthside and entered the kingdom of heaven on Aug. 4, 2025. She was born on Aug. 23, 1949, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, generosity and devotion to her family and friends.

She is survived by her two children, Hollis Bradberry (Jeff Thomas), and Chester Hodges Jr.; her five granddaughters, Jessica Hobbs, Helen Bradberry, Hannah Wheeler, Molly Bradberry and Lindsay Hodges; and many great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, Charles Stone (Brenda Stone); her nieces, Kimberli Stone and Elizabeth Stone; and her nephew, Charles Stone Jr. She was blessed with many aunts and uncles who adored her — too many to name here — but whose love she cherished deeply.

She will be remembered as a beloved mother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. Her presence was a gift, as was her cooking; her memory will be a lasting comfort to those she loved and those of us who loved her.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Milledgeville, Georgia, on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 2 p.m., with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Monticello, Georgia.
