Ruth  Veatch
Ruth Evelyn Looper Veatch, 90, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Westview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jody Branch, the Rev. Ralph Story and the Rev. Lee Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Veatch was a native of Pickens County, South Carolina but had made her home in Milledgeville. Mrs. Veatch was a registered nurse. She worked as administrator of the Vinson Building with Central State Hospital until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Furman Looper and Tecora Bates Looper; her husband, Charles Nixon Veatch; a daughter, Joan Veatch; and a son, Wayne Veatch. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Veatch; two sons, Larry Veatch (Marilyn) and Ben Veatch (Susan) all of Milledgeville; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Veatch of Macon; a sister, Julia Looper of Pickens County, South Carolina; a brother-in-law, Herbert Veatch (Catherine) of Albemarle, N.C.; three grandchildren, Kristen Bubb of Macon, Adam Veatch of McDonough and Rebekah Veatch of Milledgeville; a number of nieces and nephews, special friends and members of her Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at Westview Baptist Church.
Flowers will be accepted or friends who wish may make memorial contribution to the Veterans Benefit Fund c/o Carl Vinson Building, 2249 Vinson Hwy, Milledgeville, GA 31061.
