Rufus  Woodcock
Rufus Earl Woodcock, 87, of Milledgeville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020. Funeral services for Mr. Woodcock will be conducted Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville with Bishop Wilse Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Heritage Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, from 2 p.m. until the service hour.
Pallbearers will be Byron Henderson, Stephen Ashley, Ryan Ashley, Nicholas Hardin, Noah Hardin and Hayden Hardin.
A native of Metter, Ga., Rufus was born Jan. 12, 1933, to the late James Inman Woodcock Sr. and the late Amanda Wilson Woodcock. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Louise Vanbrackle Woodcock, and by a son, Ronald Ellie Woodcock. In his younger years, Rufus enjoyed camping, traveling and working on lawnmowers. He loved his church and his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His door was always open and he was always willing to share whatever he had with family, friends, and neighbors. Rufus was a member of Chosen Church of God in Eatonton.
Rufus is survived by his children, Cathy Henderson of Conyers, Randy (Robin) Woodcock of Guyton, Vanessa (Adrian) Ashley of Sandersville, and Glenn (Susan) Woodcock of Marietta; 10 grandchildren, Melanie (Marcus) Hardin, Jennifer Floyd, Byron (Shanee) Henderson, Laura (Josh) Wagers, Heather (Jimmy) Blackmon, Stephen (Emily) Ashley, Stephanie (Jackson) Attaway, Ryan (Julie) Ashley, Cassie Broussard, and Brandon Broussard; 16 great grandchildren.
