Milledgeville - Rebecca Pete Tribble Hobbs, 85, passed away on Dec. 31, 2025, at 4:30 a.m. peacefully in her home of Milledgeville, Georgia.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Victor Hugo Hobbs; son, Joel Vincent Hobbs, III (Michelle Rowland Hobbs), daughter, Rebecca Janice Hobbs Ward (Dennis Vance Ward). Surviving grandchildren are Avery Wynne Hobbs VanHoozer (Luke VanHoozer) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Parker Reed Ward and Levi Hobbs Ward of Statesboro, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Kirby Tribble and Ruby Louise Boggan Tribble of Jackson, Mississippi; her sisters Dolly Grace Tribble Noland (Doc Noland) of Mississippi; and Carole Anne Tribble Poag (Neal Poag) of Mississippi.

She is also preceded in death by her foster parents, Dr. Henry Crouch (Janice Young Crouch), and sister Debbie Delores Crouch McKeithan of Asheville, North Carolina; Her surviving brothers are Dr. William Crouch (Jan Crouch) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Thomas Crouch (Ellen Crouch) of Asheville, North Carolina. Her surviving sister is Sarah Crouch Tucker (Dr. Keithen Tucker) of Macon, Georgia.

Rebecca graduated from Blue Mountain Christian University, Blue Mountain, Mississippi with a B. A. early childhood education. She earned a graduate degree from Georgia College & State University of Milledgeville, Georgia with an M.Ed. in learning disorders. She taught children who were orthopedically disabled and autistic.

She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution as well as a Dame in The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. She is a Christian, and she is a member of Bethel Methodist Church of Milledgeville, Georgia.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at 3 p.m. in the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Milledgeville. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home on Monday from 1 p.m. until the service hour. Private burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Fort Valley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Children's Home: 304 Pierce Ave., P.O. Box 2525, Macon, GA, 31204.
