Macon, Georgia - Reba Wieters-Moffat of Macon, Ga. passed away on Jan. 24, 2022, at the age of 83. She was born Reba Irene Upchurch on July 24, 1938, in Asheboro, N.C., where she graduated from Asheboro High.
Reba took pride in her lifelong career as a medical record professional, having served in leadership of state and national professional associations, finishing her career with The Medical College of Georgia in service to the Department of Corrections. She enjoyed various arts and crafts, especially basket weaving, loved attending to her home and property on Lake Sinclair, and shared with her husband, Bill, a deep interest in historical architecture. She looked back fondly upon her periods of service in the GMC Prep Bulldog Club, the Old Clinton Historical Society, and the Erin Shores Homeowners Association. She delighted in her family as well as her treasured friends, many of whom were neighbors and co-workers, and all of whom she loved to generously serve, feed, and entertain. She also enjoyed reminiscing over her trips to Ireland and Scotland. Until she was no longer able to attend, she was an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Milledgeville.
Reba is survived by her loving and devoted husband, William G. Moffat III; sons John C. Wieters IV and Christopher E. Wieters (wife Krista); grandchildren, Christopher E. Wieters Jr., Andrew R. Wieters, and Rebecca K. Wieters; sister, Rena Upchurch Whitehead (husband Eddie Lee); sister-in-law, Frances Upchurch (wife of the late William H. Upchurch Jr.); nephew, E. Lee Whitehead; and niece, Anna Beth Upchurch Pernell. Reba was preceded in death by her father William H. Upchurch, mother Minnie Lee Tyner Upchurch, and brother William H. Upchurch Jr.
