Michael Elrod Obituary
Michael Keith Elrod, 67, of Milledgeville, passed away Nov. 23, 2024. Mike was born in Greensboro, Georgia to the late Robert Kenneth Elrod and Betty Ann Lankford Elrod. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and a dutiful sailor. He medically retired from the U.S. Navy as Aviation Ordnance First Class (AO1) after 15 years of service, primarily aboard the USS Forrestal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Roberts.
Mike is survived by his wife of 42 years, Becky Elrod; daughters, Anna Ethridge, Charlotte, Dunnaway; son, Andrew Elrod; grandchildren, Christian Lineberger, Elle Ethridge, Avery Elrod, Finley Elrod, Ava Ethridge, Jonah Elrod, Kaden Dunnaway, Sebastian Elrod, all of Milledgeville; sisters, Lynn Elrod of Villa Rica, Robin Finney of Hampton; brother, Mark Elrod of Elberta, Alabama; several cousins, a niece and four nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, a private family service will be held in which Mike's remains will be placed in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville. In lieu of flowers, please make donations at Mission22.com or COPDfoundation.org
