Meldra Williamson Harris Panchelli, 102, passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Bradley and the Rev. Jeff Morgan officiating. Private burial will follow at Harris Hill Cemetery.

Ms. Meldra was born in Macon, Georgia on July 2, 1922, to the late Roston M. "Bill" Williamson and Bernice McCook Williamson. She married her high school sweetheart, William Eugene Harris. They shared a great life for over 48 ½ years until his passing in 1989. She later married Roy Panchelli June 19, 2004, and they enjoyed many years together until his passing in 2017.

Throughout her life she worked as a secretary for the Chrysler Import Division while her husband attended dental school. She then was a homemaker and raised her children and was also a foster parent for the Baldwin County Department of Family and Children Services from 1957-1961 raising seven babies. She worked as a secretary for First Baptist Church from 2000-2006 before retiring. She was a member of First Baptist for over 70 years, working with many church organizations including teaching Sunday School, First Baptist Church Women's Missionary Union and Bible Study of Morning Baptist Women. She served as Mission Action director for First Baptist Church with responsibility for a Christmas party for 200-250 participants of Central State Hospital for 15 years. She was an Ordained deacon from 1991-1993 serving as deacon chairwoman and deacon secretary. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for 20 years, a dental health volunteer for Baldwin County Schools and Georgia College, a member of American Cancer Society Board of Directors and coordinator of Reach to Recovery Program for 10 years. She served as president and later a Historian of Auxiliary to the Georgia Dental Association, trustee for Georgia Baptist Children's Home and Family Ministries. Her hobbies included needlework, photography and gardening.

Survivors include her children, Larry Harris (Cathy) and Bunny Conine (Clyde) both of Milledgeville; stepson, Russell Panchelli (Franny) of Sewell, New Jersey; like son, Frank Ivey (Pam) of Waynesboro; nephew, Tom Dietrick (Trisha) of Milledgeville; stepdaughter, Marion Coyle (Bobby) of Eatonton; two sisters-in-law, Pat Williamson of Black Mountain, N. Carolina, and Mary H. Edinger of Hialeah, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 until 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
