Gray, Georgia - Lorene Tingle Nutt, 94, of Gray, passed away at her home Monday, Feb. 21, 2022. The family will greet friends Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Hart's Jones County Chapel. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. at Baldwin Memorial Gardens with Pastor Danny Lyles officiating.
Daughter of the late Andrew Cornelius and Evie May King Tingle, Lorene grew up in Jackson, Ga. and graduated from Mary Persons High School. She married James Anderson "Andy" Nutt April 6, 1947. Over the years, they moved throughout the state of Georgia. Before moving to Gray in 2006 to be with her family, Lorene lived on Lake Sinclair for many years and was an active member of Lakeshore Community Church for as long as she was able. Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, James Anderson "Andy" Nutt, daughter, Jan Nutt, son, Gary Nutt, and grandson, Andy Horton.
Lorene is survived by her granddaughter, Heather Jackson (Scott) of Gray; and grandchildren, Christopher and Emily Jackson of Gray.
