Milledgeville, Georgia - John Hamilton Tripp, 43, of Athens, Georgia arrived safely in the arms of His heavenly Father on Jan. 9, 2025. After an almost two-year courageous battle with a brain injury, he is now fully healed. John was surrounded by his family as he peacefully took his final breaths.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, he was beloved son of Patricia Rogers Tripp and DeLeon Ray Tripp Jr. Growing up in Athens, Georgia, John ventured off to Auburn University where he obtained a degree in business administration. He returned home to Athens, where he had a successful career in sales with Manning Brothers for over 13 years. Never meeting a stranger, John made many friendships with coworkers as well as clients. He also cherished his lifelong friendships in Athens as well.
John loved spending time fishing with his father, having long meaningful conversations with his mother, spending time with his sister and nephew, and loving his dogs, Cameron and George.
He is survived by his loving family, mother, Patricia Rogers Tripp; father, DeLeon Ray Tripp Jr. (Donja); sister, Elizabeth Tripp Moore (Joshua), and the little light of his life; his nephew Pierce Moore.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Emmett Alton and Frances Bonner Rogers and DeLeon Ray Sr. and Faye Steele Tripp.
Heartfelt gratitude goes to the staff of Columbus Specialty and Piedmont Columbus, especially Dr. Arshia Khan and the staff of 8 Intermediate Care Unit who fought tirelessly to care for John and keep him comfortable.
John will be tremendously missed, but we know we will see him again in Heaven. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Athens, Georgia. A graveside service will follow in Milledgeville, Georgia at Memory Hill Cemetery at 3 p.m.
