Milledgeville - John Stephen "Steve" Huff, 79, passed away on Dec. 3, 2025. Born in Queens, New York to Jerome and Martha Huff, Steve spent much of his childhood moving with his family due to his father's military career. Those moves took him to places such as Japan, Hawaii and Alaska, experiences he spoke of often throughout his life.

Steve was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the United States Army from 1967 to 1970 and completing his service with an honorable discharge at the rank of Specialist Five (SP5). He served nearly a year in Vietnam as an Aviation Flight Equipment Specialist (38B) and earned several service medals and marksmanship badges during his time in the Army.

A talented carpenter, Steve took genuine care with anything he built, from homes and furniture to anything he could shape or repair. His passion for Mopar and antique cars was a defining part of his life. He spent countless hours restoring engines, collecting parts, and talking shop, forming meaningful and lasting friendships through these shared interests.

Steve is survived by his wife, Rosy Huff; his children, James Paul Huff, Allison Rousey (Wesley) and Lauren Goebel (Nick); and his grandchildren, Mia and Brody Goebel, and Cameron and Vivi Rousey. He is also survived by his siblings, Jerry Huff (Linda), Rodney Huff (Mary), Debbie Kreimborg (Joe), Kathy Marshall (Bill), and Liz Aufmuth (Dave), along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Martha Huff; his sister, Jennifer Susan Huff; and his best friend, Willie James Tennyson.

Steve's family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville for the exceptional care, dignity and compassion they provided throughout his final years.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 19, at 9:30 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home, followed by an 11 a.m. service at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
