Jimmy Dixon Obituary
Celebration of Life for Mr. Jimmy Dixon of Milledgeville, will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, commencing at 1 p.m. at Flagg Chapel Baptist Church, 400 W. Franklin St., Milledgeville. Remains will lie in state at noon. The interment will follow at Jones Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Sparta, Ga. Jimmy was called home from labor to reward on Friday, May 3, 2019.
He was a dedicated lifelong member of Jones Chapel A.M.E. Church serving as a steward and Sunday School superintendent. Jimmy was also a member of the Hancock County Board of Education.
He leaves cherished memories lingering in the hearts of his loving family, one daughter, Glenda (Fentress) Henderson of Atlanta, Ga.; sons, Thaddeus Dixon of McDonough, Ga. and Taranda (Semorea) Charleston of Atlanta, Ga.; siblings, Brenda Lundy, Connie Stephens, Sonja Butts, Quinton Dixon and Solomon (Bernice) Stephens; six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Stephens and Lillie Mae Dixon, also brothers, Eugene Dixon, Clarence Stephens Jr. and Eddie Stephens.
