James Richard "Dickie" Adams, 74, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20 at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Adams was born in Milledgeville, Georgia to the late James R. Adams and Eloise Ledford Adams. He was a graduate of Baldwin County High School. He was a field engineer with Windstream and retired with over 39 years of service. He retired as the assistant fire chief at Coopers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Joan Roberts Adams. He was a member of Cooperville Baptist Church and the Benevolent Lodge No. 3.
Survivors include two sons, James Richard Adams Jr. (Kim) of Haddock and Ryan Adams of Milledgeville; two sisters, Bobbie Adams and Joyce McCullough (Kenny) of Milledgeville; two grandchildren, Tyler Adams and Tristan Adams; a special friend, Chris Wall of Milledgeville; brother-in-law, Bobby Roberts and two sisters-in-law, Lou Queen and Freda Roberts; and a number of nieces, nephews and a loving extended family.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 7 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Georgia Baptist Children's Home.
