Mrs. Chambers was a native of Johnson County and had made her home in Milledgeville. She was preceded in death by parents, George W. and Florence Morris Keyton Mayo; brothers: Eula B. Keyton, Louis Keyton and G.B. Price and a sister, Maggie Keyton. She was a member of First Christian Church in Toomsboro.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas L. Chambers Sr.; her children, Robin Chambers Jackson (Terry) of Sandersville, Douglas L. Chambers Jr., Chris Chambers (Gina), Jeff Chambers (Mitzi) and Bruce Chambers all of Milledgeville; a brother, Pete Price of Wrightsville; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148 or to Hospice Care Foundation 486 New St., Macon, GA 31201.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 until 6 p.m. at the residence, 2880 Vinson Highway and also on Sunday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
