Frankie  Burgamy
Mr. James Franklin "Frankie" Burgamy, 64, passed away on March 25, 2020. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2020, at 2 p.m. in Baldwin Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Larry Glover officiating.
Mr. Burgamy was a native and lifelong resident of Milledgeville and was the son of the late Johnnie Gordon Burgamy and Wylene Elizabeth Collins Burgamy. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cassie Marie Burgamy. Mr. Burgamy had retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections and had served as a police officer with Central State Hospital, Ivey Police Department, and as chief of Toomsboro Police Department. He loved his grandchildren and worked to make a world a better place through his kindness and his soft-spoken nature. He was a member of Scottsboro Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Angelia Pearce Burgamy; daughter and daddy's girl, Tina Louise Pettigrew (Matthew) of Milledgeville; grandsons, Brody Jackson Brock and Briggs Kenneth James Pettigrew; sister, Wanda DeVane of Tallahassee, Fla.; brothers, Gordy Burgamy and Bennie Burgamy of Milledgeville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Flowers accepted and for those who wish memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation of Milledgeville or to the Georgia Cancer Center.
