The Lord decided to have Frank Merring, 73, join His team on Nov. 2, 2019 after a lengthy fight with cancer. Frank was born on May 5, 1946 in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam era. Afterwards he worked a variety of obs in the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania area until an industrial accident in 1993 left him with a permanent disability. In 2011 Frank decided that he had seen enough of Pennsylvania's winters and moved to Milledgeville where he became a fixture at Harmony Baptist Church. Frank's unique personality left an indelible mark on all those who had the good fortune of knowing him. He was a lifelong superfan of hockey and particularly the "Baby Pens". When he was up to it, Frank would be at the Macon coliseum rooting for the Macon Mayhem. He will be deeply missed by his close friends, Scott Andrews and Rick Warke of Pennsylvania and Lisa Cantrell, TJ Finnerty and Don Watson of Milledgeville. He will also be missed by his Milledgeville friends which include the congregation at Harmony Baptist Church and his faithful Scottish Terrier companion, McTavish.
