Frances Weems Obituary

Milledgeville - Frances Cheryl Ashfield Weems passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 16, surrounded by her family. Cheryl was born Dec. 14, 1944, in Baldwin County, Georgia the daughter of T.A. and Frances Clair Ashfield. Cheryl was married to Pat Weems for 58 years. They resided on their family farm in Putnam County. Cheryl spent 30 years teaching second and third grade in the Putnam County school system. She was passionate about the children that she taught and remained in contact with several of her students. Cheryl loved to cook and plan events which normally were centered around her family.

She is survived by her husband, Pat Weems; children, Daphne Nicholls (Joe Nicholls) and Jay Weems (Jana Weems); grandchildren, Joseph and T.J. Nicholls, James Patrick, Elizabeth and Kathryn Weems; and great grandchildren, Lottie, Ada, Millie and Layne Nicholls.

Visitation will be at Williams Funeral Home in Eatonton, Georgia from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18. Funeral arrangements will be on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. beginning at Williams Funeral Home and ending with internment at Wesley Chapel.
