Milledgeville - Mrs. Eunice Joanne Meeks Walden, 88, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, in Friendship Baptist Church Washington. Interment will follow in church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until the service hour.

Mrs. Walden was a native of Deepstep and was a lifelong resident of Middle Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Willie Hugh and Estelle Blizzard Meeks and was preceded in death by her husband, Walter David Walden; daughters, Linda Kay Benefield and Brenda Faye Pennington; daughter-in-law, Keturah Walden; sister, Carol Joiner; brother, William Clarence Meeks. She loved cats, enjoyed cooking, sewing and watching soap operas. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church Washington.

She is survived by sons, Bobby Walden and John Walden; grandchildren, Kimberly Turner, Michelle Amerson, Christopher Pennington, Michael Pennington, David Walden and Kasey Arch; and numerous great grandchildren also survive.
