Ms. Reeves was born in Haddock, Georgia on Aug. 26, 1939, to the late Burden Roy Dixon and Ruby Mae Bryant. She was a graduate of Baldwin High School (Class of '57) and worked at JP Stevens and Co. after graduation. On Christmas Eve 1960, she married the love of her life, Gerald, and dedicated her time to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband and three children. Later in life, she taught preschool at First Baptist Church, where she was an active member. She was an excellent baby-whisperer, cherished grandmother, accomplished cook, seamstress, and avid gardener. Her greatest joys were spending time with her husband and family, hugging her grandchildren, creating a beautiful yard and garden, and living a faithful life in Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Gerald Bennett Reeves, brothers Jerry Claude Dixon and Burden Roy Dixon, sisters Joyce Dixon Gordon, Shirley Dixon Wall and Carolyn Dixon Scarborough.
Survivors include her son Bennett Reeves (Trish) of Gordon, two daughters Michelle Reeves (Jim) and Jennifer Reeves Cobb (Shane) both of Savannah; sister-in-law, Ann Reeves Johnson of Macon; four grandchildren Melissa, Alex, Elcee and Corbin, and many loved nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
