Charles Albert Pennington Jr., 81, passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29 at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Morgan and Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating. Burial will be at West View Cemetery.

Mr. Pennington was born in Milledgeville, Georgia on April 3, 1943, to the late Charles Albert Pennington Sr. and Alice Daphne Hall Pennington. He attended GMC Prep School (1962) and GMC Jr. College (1964). He was in Band Company, playing the clarinet. In his younger days he was a member of the Milledgeville Jaycees and was also a member of First Baptist Church. His life-long hobby was being a Ham Radio operator. Watching golf and football was a favorite pastime.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, John Pennington Ferguson in 1971, and a niece, Mary Jeanette Ferguson, in 1973.

He is survived by two daughters, Pam Richter and Stephanie Cassamas (Len); three grandchildren, Ashton, Madison and Sage.

Cousins include Ike Thomas (Mollie), Ennise McDade Burke (Hugh), Gary Pennington (Bonnie), Grady Pennington (Ann), Kent Thomas (Iris), Clifford Pennington (Shirley Jean), Marion Pennington (Linda), Ann Barnhill, Burk Herrin (Susan), Terry Estes (Mark) and Marion Baggerly (Sandy). He is survived by his sister, Janet Pennington Ferguson; nieces, Emily Ferguson May (Steve), Ellen Sullivan (Alex), nephew, Merritt Wall (Katie); great nieces and nephew, Lily and Jesse Wall, Shannon and Nichole Waller, and Geraldine Smith were dear friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 3 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home & Crematory.
