Milledgeville - Carl Harris, Sr., 76, of Milledgeville, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025. Funeral services for Carl Harris will be conducted Saturday, July 5, at 2 p.m. in Vaughn Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Hill and Rev. Tony Fraley officiating. Interment will follow in Heritage Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Thursday, July 3, 2025 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. A native of Milledgeville, Carl was born on Jan. 21, 1949 to the late Algie Harris Sr. and the late Mary Wray Harris. Along with his parents, Carl was also preceded in death by his siblings, Frances Daniels, Dorothy Johnson, Katherine Morgan, Mamie McFadden and Annie Louise Caison. Carl retired from Georgia Power after 37 years. He was a jack-of-all-trades, and had lived in various places, including Cleveland, Ohio. Carl was born as a twin, with sister Carlene. He was a landlord, a God-fearing man who loved his church, Vaughn Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Carl served in the Army National Guard, he was a great bowler, and he loved his family dearly. Carl is survived by his sons, Carl Harris, Jr. of Cleveland, and Brad Harris of Delaware; his daughter, Marilyn Harris of Cleveland; his sisters, Carlene Johnson, and Phyllis Harris, both of Milledgeville; his brothers, Algie Harris, Jr. of Milledgeville, and Julius Harris of Erie, PA ; 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; his devoted friend, Bernice Ivey of Milledgeville; and his beloved friend, Clarice from Cartersville.
