Milledgeville, Georgia - Betty Joyce Martin Jones-Williams, 92, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Elder Lee Price and the Rev. Brad Blackmon co-officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Jones-Williams was born on Aug. 2, 1932, to the late Willie Edward (Bill) Martin and Lillie Mae Allen of Hardwick, Georgia but lived the majority of her life in Milledgeville. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Kenneth Hughes Jones Jr. and John Elbert Williams, as well as her brother, John Edward (Buddy) Martin.

She was a graduate of Midway Vocational High School and attended Georgia-Alabama Business College in Macon. Betty married Kenneth Hughes Jones Jr. in 1952; they were married for 45 years until Kenneth's death in 1997. In 2015, she married John Elbert Williams, and they enjoyed five years together until his death in 2020. Betty had previous careers with Georgia Power, Morgan Buick Company, Milledgeville Country Club and was retired from Lawrence's Flower Shop. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and was the last charter member of Hardwick Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include her devoted son, Kenneth Martin Jones and daughter-in-law, Laura Miller Jones of Byron, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Barbara Abney Martin and Jean Williams Couey; nieces Suzanne Martin Ratliff (Jeff), Kim Jones Bowers (Bob) and Kathy Jones Dent; nephews Michael Martin (Tonya) and Talmadge Louis Jones (Debra); devoted cousins Wilma Duckworth and Angelia Pearce Burgamy, and her loyal grand-dog, Rosie. Several great-nieces, great-nephews, friends and cousins also survive.

Pallbearers are Michael Martin, Talmadge Jones, Joe Duckworth, Gary Duckworth, Jim DeVane, Ted Braxley, Jeff Ratliff and Ed Miller.
