Mr. Bennett H. Achord Jr., 73, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville. Interment will follow at Heritage Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5 until 7 p.m Mr. Achord was a native of Alamo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennet H. Achord Sr. and Lula H. Achord; and a sister, Carolyn Gibson. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a past president of Kiwanis, a past board member of the Exchange Club and a member of Northridge Christian Church. He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer A. (Don) Stanley of Naples, Fla.; sons, Michael "Casey" Achord, and Andrew Achord, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; grandsons, Holden Patterson, Owen Achord, Taylor Achord, Noah Achord and Jackson Stanley; granddaughters, Sierra Stanley and Kinzie Achord; sister, Emma Clements of Alamo; nieces and nephews, Donna Leggett of Alamo, Craig Clements of McRae, and Lyn Clements of Alamo. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
