Ann Jones Pennington, 76, of Milledgeville, GA, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025. Born in Keyport, NJ, on September 30, 1948, Ann grew up in Holmdel, NJ, before making Milledgeville her home in 1976. She dedicated her career to education, working at Central State Hospital's Education and Work Activity Center and later serving as a Special Education Teacher in the Baldwin County School System. Her passion for teaching and commitment to her students left a lasting impact on many lives. Ann was a devoted member of First Christian Church in Milledgeville, where she served faithfully in many capacities, including as Sunday School Superintendent. Her leadership and dedication to the church and its youth reflected her deep faith and love for her community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gladys Therkelsen. Ann is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Grady Pennington; her loving children, Darlene (Brian) Peavy, Denise Smith, Bart (Jennifer) Pennington, and Barrie (Paul) Davis; and her cherished grandchildren, Tyler Thompson, Logan Thompson, Kelsey (Charles) Hall, Trace Smith, Anna Davis, Mia Davis, Jane Pennington, and Mac Pennington. She was also excitedly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild, Keyton Thompson. Ann will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the love she shared with her family, friends, and church community. She touched the hearts of many and leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and faith. A private service to celebrate Ann's life will be held with family.
