Richard Clyde's Story
Mr. Richard Clyde Bacon, 83, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 2 PM at Irwinton Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Murphey officiating. Interment will follow in Irwinton Masonic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1 PM until the service hour.
Mr. Bacon was a native of Irwinton and the son of the late Nathaniel Hunter and Elizabeth Camp Bacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jean Bloodworth Bacon. He was a graduate of Georgia Technical Institute with a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and lived in St. Mary's until 2000 when he returned to Irwinton. He was an avid quail hunter. He was retired from Gilman Paper Company and a member of Irwinton Baptist Church.
He is survived by sons, Patrick (Lisa) Bacon of Crestview, FL, Raymond (Becky) Bacon of Warner Robins, Jason (Carrie) Kinchen of Murfreesboro, Nathaniel R. (Emma) Bacon of Irwinton; sister, Catherine Moodie, brother, Raymond (Grace) Bacon, both of Irwinton; grandchildren, Hunter Bacon, Mark (Alicia) Corrigan, Chelsea Corrigan, Blake Corrigan, Chandler Bacon, Brett (Dorian) Kinchen, Carson Kinchen, Landon Bacon, and Hailey Bacon; and nieces and nephews.
Flowers accepted and for those who wish, expressions of sympathy may be made to Georgia Baptist Children's Home.
