Johnny C.'s Story
Johnny Clyde "J.C." Thomas, 82, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville with Elder Bill Torrance officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service hour.
Mr. Thomas was a native of Baskin, LA and had made his home in Milledgeville since 1981. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and most of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was very active in his church, Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and served as treasurer. He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny W. Thomas; daughter, Judy Smith; his first wife, Betty Thomas; mother, Gertrude Garrett Thomas; father, Ivy T. Thomas; brother, Romie Thomas; and sisters, Sandra Thomas and Betty Bennett.
He is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Joyce Thomas of Milledgeville; daughters, Barbara (Earl) Renfroe and Ruby Raymond, both of Jones County; grandchildren, Kevin Hudson, Brian Hudson, Wendy Harden, Brandon Hudson, Troy (Ashleigh) Hudson, Tiffany Hudson, Casey Smith, Tonya (James) Brown, Brittany (Greg) Davis, Eric (Ashley) Raymond, Amanda (Lee) Thiel, Dakota (Hayden) Raymond; 27 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Sears of Vidalia, Martha Durden of Augusta, Shirley ( Tom) Stowe of Gray, Glenda Henry and JoAnn (Pierce) Bedgood, both of Swainsboro.
Flowers are accepted and for those who wish, expressions of sympathy may be made to Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
