Jean Hancock's Story

Jean Hancock Hammock age 81, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Saturday, February 18, 2017, at home surrounded by her family and loved ones. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, (visitation at 10:00) February 25, at Northridge Christian Church with Rev. Mike Waers officiating. Burial will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband James C. Hammock. Jean was the daughter of the late Elder W.H. and Louise Simmons Hancock, member of High Point Church in Macon and partner of Northridge Christian Church in Milledgeville. She was a graduate of Miller High for Girls.
She began her career at the Naval Ordinance Plant in Macon and retired as a Contracting Officer from Robins Air Force Base. She was a past singer with the Hosannas Christian Trio, an avid and passionate tennis player and past tennis coach at John Milledge Academy.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her family, survivors include her son Jimmy Hammock (Paula) of Macon and her daughter Joy Rentz (Mike) of Springboro, OH, sisters, Helen Elizabeth Jones of Jacksonville, FL and Alma Iseman of Kennesaw, GA. 6 grandchildren, Kacie Davis, Jennifer Hammock, Brad Hammock, Brandon (Andrea) Rentz, Bryan Rentz and Bryce Rentz, 4 great grandchildren Ayden Davis, Rebecca Davis, Colten Rentz and Kayden Rentz, and Jack (Jabo) Sapp, her long-time boyfriend of 6 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Jean Hancock Hammock to The Mary Kay Foundation, P.O. Box 799044, Dallas, Texas 75379-9044 or St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
The family will receive friends (visitation) Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Northridge Christian Church.
