Fred L.'s Story
Fred L. Youmans, 85, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Lyles officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 1:30 until service time at the funeral home.
Fred was born in Emanuel Co., Georgia to the late Fred Lee and Christine Way Youmans and was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Edna Parker Youmans; his sons, George and Joseph Youmans; and brother, Felton Youmans. Fred served his country in the United States Air Force. He loved his career as a Railroad Engineer at the Central of Georgia and Norfolk Southern railroads and was a member of Lakeshore Community Church in Eatonton, Georgia. Fred enjoyed working in the yard, coin collecting, projects around his home at Lake Sinclair, and visiting with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, including those from "The Corner", a popular place from his youth. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include sons, Lee Youmans and Brian (Cathy) Youmans and his grandchildren, Becky, Lizzie, Amanda and Allison.
