Elder Eleazar's Story
Elder Eleazar Young, Jr. departed this life on Monday, March 20, 2017 at his residence. He was born on April 11, 1960 in Milledgeville, Baldwin County Georgia to Mrs. Irene Griswold Young and the late Mr. Eleazar Young, Sr.
A family visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 6-8pm at the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Slater's Funeral Home, Milledgeville, Georgia.
Elder Young was a Christian man who loved his family and loved the Lord. He was ordained as a deacon and minister in his father's ministry Resseau Chapel, Eatonton Georgia. Later he was ordained as an Elder in the Second Georgia Southern Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the C.O.G.I.C. with Bishop John Wayne Leggett, Presiding Bishop and Superintendent Pearson.
Elder Young was a veteran of six years of the United States Army and a retiree of the Georgia Department of Transportation as a highway foreman of Baldwin County.
Elder Young loved his family, singing and joking with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife for more than thirty years: Mrs. Valerie Young; two sons: Mr. Aaron-James Young and Mr.Emmanuel Eleazar Young, Sr.; one grandson: Emmanuel Eleazar Young, Jr.; mother of grandson: Ms. Alecia Whipple; his mother: Mother Irene Young; siblings: Elder Natalie (Elder Anthony) Fields,Min. Victor (LaTonja) Young, Mr. Preston (Calandra) Young, and Ms. Yolanda Young; one aunt: Mother Octavia Hill; a host of other relatives and friends.
