Bill's Story

William "Bill" Holsenbeck went to heaven on Monday, May 15, 2017. Bill was born in Baldwin County on August 10, 1933 to Paul Morrison Holsenbeck and Alma Callaway Holsenbeck. Bill graduated from Georgia Military College. He owned and operated the Minute Mart convenience store for many years, and he also worked at JP Stephens, Baldwin Enterprises and retired from Grumman Aerospace Corporation as Facilities Manager in 1995. He served in the Army National Guard for 21 years and retired as a Captain. He was involved in many community services including the Milledgeville Jaycees. He became a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and led a group at Men's Prison. Through this work he led many men to sobriety and to Christ. He was also a leader in the Celebrate Recovery Program at Northside Baptist Church, where he has been a member for many years. There her served as the President of the Caring In Action (CIA) Sunday School class. He loved hunting, fishing, and traveling. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Bill touched so many lives. He loved his family and church but most of all he loved his Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jacquelyn H. Holsenbeck and daughters Sarah H. Saunders (Richard), Dr. Brenda H. Manley (Greg), and Ruthie H. Norman (Mike). He also had three stepchildren, William R. Morris, Michele M. Hogg (Gary), and Dr. Holley M. Roberts (Cliff). He leaves behind a wonderful legacy with 13 grandchildren; William Thomas Hines, Forrest McComb Hines, Larry Gregory Manley III, Sarah Jane Madison Manley Fitzgerald, Conrad Claude Helms IV, Griffin Holsenbeck Helms, Haley Brooke Demmon, Jordan Kyle Demmon, Maggie Reynolds Morris, Hannah Grace Morris, Olivia Layne Morris, Ansley Virginia Roberts, Clifford Morris Roberts and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 18 from 6:00-8:00pm at Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will be at Northside Baptist Church on Friday, May 19 at 11:00am with Dr. Jerry Pickard and Dr. Brandon Furr.
