William Billy Davis Mr. William Anton "Billy" Davis, 85, passed away on Jan. 30, 2019. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at 1 p.m. in Darien Baptist Church with Pastor David Ray and the Rev. Terry Carmoney officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta City Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Milledgeville.
Mr. Davis was a lifelong native of Sparta having graduated from Sparta High School in 1951. He was the son of the late Joe Sidney Davis, Sr. and Carrie Deliah Holcomb and was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Lynn Garland Finch; brother, Joe Sidney Davis, Jr.; and sister, Martha Mixon. He was an accomplished woodworker making bird houses, doll beds, rocking chairs, and loved seeing children enjoy the things he made. He enjoyed John Deere tractors and was an automotive mechanic. Mr. Davis was a member of Farm Bureau, Smyrna Methodist Church, and attended Linton Methodist Church and Darien Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Garland Davis of Sparta; children, Carol Steele of Eatonton, Connie Hively of Griffin, Mike Davis (Mary Ann) of Lithia Springs, and Jerry Davis (Linda) of Sparta; stepchildren, Gene Garland (Robin) of Buckhead, Noel Garland (Samantha) of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Cherry Simpson (Keith) of Baldwin, Georgia; 22 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sisters, Blanche Scoggins of Columbia, South Carolina, Louise Moore Arrington of Crawfordville, and Mary Frances Abernathy(Paul) of Greensboro.

Mr Billy Davis great man use to go to his transmission shop when I was young man Mr Davis was very Loved by lots and his wife also God bless prayers for all of the family
