Wasco's Story

Wasco Andy Kotrick, 82, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at his residence with his beloved family by his side. Services celebrating his life will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Burpee-Scotta Memorial Chapel & Crematory with interment following at 2 p.m. at Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Saint Jude Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
Wasco was born in Bakerton, Pa. March 10, 1936, to the late Alexander and Mary (Konitsky) Kotrick. He proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force where he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. He continued his service as a civil service employee at Robins Air Force Base as an F-15 aircraft mechanic from which he retired. Wasco was an avid sports fan, especially his Pittsburgh Pirates. He was a life member of the VFW, post 15040 and a member of the American Legion. Wasco was a very hard working and caring man, especially when it came to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, Wasco was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and Andy Kotrick.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Irene Yeckley Kotrick of Warner Robins; son, Kevin Kotrick (Linda); daughters, Kimberly and Nicole Kotrick; grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Kassie, Troy, Lance and Alex; brothers, George Kotrick, Alex Kotrick Jr. and John Kotrick (Kathy); sister-in-laws, Patty Kotrick and Shirley Kotrick.
