Dr. Thomas Wellington Lucik, 83, passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with the Rev. Susan Balfour and the Rev. John Lamsma officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the service hour.
Dr. Lucik was born in Binghamton, N.Y. and graduated from New York State School for the Blind in 1953. He graduated from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. where he was a member of the Emmerson Literary Society. He received his PhD from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 1962. He was board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in 1968. Dr. Lucik was a member of the American Psychological Association, the Southeastern Psychological Association, and the Georgia Psychological Association. He retired from Central State Hospital after 34 years of service and retired from private practice in 2005. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Milledgeville.
Dr. Lucik was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary Lucik, four brothers and their spouses, Michael (Anne) Lucik, Joseph (Veronica) Lucik, Andrew (Mabelle) Lucik, and George (Iris) Lucik.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Hill Lucik of Milledgeville; his son, Donald (Tammy) Lucik; his daughter, Judy Bledsoe both of Gray; five grandchildren, Tammy Bledsoe, Michael Bledsoe, Corwin (Lindsay) Lucik, Amber Lucik and Shelby Lucik; four great grandchildren, Blake (Tabatha) Connolly, April Connolly, Riley and Random Lucik; two great-great grandchildren, Blakely and Presley Connolly. He is also survived by his nephews, George (Marie) Lucik, Richard Lucik and niece, Jean (Robert) Orlovsky and cousin, Rose (Bill) Shamulka all of New York.
