Roy Panchelli, 98, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017. Services will be held Sunday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Panchelli was a born in Philadelphia, Pa. Dec. 25, 1918, and took great pride in being a Christmas baby. He served in the United States Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Panchelli retired after 30 years from the Department of Defense at the Frankford Arsenal in Philadelphia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Marie Donato Panchelli, a sister Marion Potere', two brothers, Vincent Panchelli and Theodore Panchelli. He was a Boy Scout leader and a member of First Baptist Church of Milledgeville.
Survivors include his wife, Meldra H. Panchelli of Milledgeville; two sons, Roy Panchelli Jr. of Eatonton and Russell Panchelli (Franny) of Sewel, N.J.; his daughter, Marion Coyle (Bobby) of Eatonton; stepson, Larry Harris (Cathy) and stepdaughter, Bunny Harris Conine (Clyde), both of Milledgeville; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 until 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
