Roosevelt's Story

Mr. Roosevelt Williams affectionately known as "Sonny Roo" was born in Milledgeville on July 1, 1940 to the late Mr. Eugene Williams Sr, and the late Mrs. Pearl Pruitt Williams.
He attended the public schools of Baldwin County and graduated from J.F. Boddie High School Class of 1960. He was employed at the Central State Hospital and retired after thirty-four years of service.
He was united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Vera Ann Williams in 1979. He was blessed with three children.
At an early age Roosevelt joined New Hope Baptist Church in Milledgeville, where he served faithfully on the Senior Usher Board until his health declined.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mrs. Vera Ann Williams; three children, Mrs. Cynthia W. (Kent) Bly, Mr. Roosevelt (Sylvia) Williams Jr. and Ms. Shantera Williams; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ms. Lula M. Johnson and Ms. Lois Williams; one brother, Mr. Eugene Williams; four sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law and several other relatives and friends.
Slater's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
