Robert Benjamin Chambers, 69, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017. He was born Oct. 11, 1948 in Lyons, GA. He grew up in Macon, GA. and spent the majority of his adult life in Milledgeville. He was a 1966 graduate of Lanier High School in Macon, GA. He attended Southern Tech where he studied electrical engineering. He worked at Georgia Power for 23 years, and owned his own electrical company, Chambers Electric, until retiring in 2011. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sitting on the porch by the lake.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie (LB) Chambers. He leaves his wife of 44 years, Deborah (Davis) Chambers of Lake Sinclair; his mother, Jeanette (Browning) Chambers of Lake Sinclair; daughters, Kasey (Shane) Nelson of Katy, TX; Katie (James) Painter of Milledgeville; grandsons, Gunner and Parker Nelson of Katy, TX and Colton Painter of Milledgeville; a sister, Cheryl (Dan) Faulk of NC; and number of other family members and close family friends.
Services for Mr. Chambers will be held Sunday Oct. 22, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Visitation will precede the service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations either be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Jay's Hope Foundation in Macon, GA.
