Mary Sue Hawthorne's Story
The death of Mrs. Mary Sue Hawthorne West, 93, occurred Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017. Funeral Services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Moores Funeral Home, burial will be private in the Coopers Cemetery.
Mrs. West was a native of Wilkinson County and lived most of her life in Baldwin County. She was a lifelong member of Hardies Chapel Church of Christ in Gordon, and worked for many years in the office of Dr. Bob Rogers, DDS.
Survivors include her husband of 75 years, Sibley West of Milledgeville, a daughter, Pat Smith of Eatonton, and a son, Johnny West (Lurline) of Milledgeville. Five grandchildren, Melanie Wilson, Bryan Smith, Shellie Polimeni, Brandon West, and Claire West. Twelve great-grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be held Sunday December 17, 2017 from 3 until 5 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hardies Chapel Church of Christ, 100 Hardies Chapel Lane, Gordon, GA 31031.
