Mary Ann Bell

Mary Ann Coleman Bell, 86, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 10 a.m. in Baldwin Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bill Ayers officiating. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home on Saturday from 9 to 9:30 a.m.
Mrs. Bell was known for her life of service. She dedicated her life to caring for others, her community, and serving God. She was a nurse for 30 years at Central State Hospital and a faithful member of Heartland Baptist Church in Milledgeville, Ga. A native of Milledgeville, she loved her hometown and its rich history; she collected local newspapers over the years and created a scrapbook of Milledgeville. She finished it at 85 years young. She cared deeply for others, even those she had never met. She wrote letters to service men and women overseas and made angel pins that she sold and donated the money to cancer research. Her strength and humility are an example to her family and friends of a life well lived. Mrs. Bell loved her family most of all. Her famous Sunday family lunches will always be cherished memories of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all her family.
Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Mr. Perry N. Bell Jr.; her father and mother, Mr. Henry Coleman and Mrs. Claudia Coleman; and her brother, Mr. Frank Coleman.
Survivors include her three children, Chris (Linda) Bell, Wayne Bell, and Gloria (Jay) Gros; eight grandchildren, Garrett Bell, Ron (Katie) McGowan, Chandler Bell, Lori (Chris) Buchanan, Jessica (Jason) Briley, Heather (Jeremy) Cook, Makaila and T.J. Gros; six great grandchildren, Lily and Andrew McGowan, Logan Buchanan, Beau and Caleb Briley and Nash Cook.
