Mark Levi's Story
Mark Levi Ryles, 54, of Milledgeville passed away Aug. 3, 2017. He died peacefully succumbing to lung cancer. This son of the late the Rev. Roger Ryles and Ethel Kitchens Ryles, Humphrey was born in Milledgeville Nov. 26, 1962. Mark grew up in Dodge and Baldwin counties. He was an accomplished musician. The words of Allman's "Ramblin Man" fit him well. He worked on oil rigs in Texas and in restaurants in Ohio and Georgia. He was a carpenter and a mechanic. He traveled America on a motorcycle with guitar in hand. He received a culinary arts degree.
Mark is survived by his wife, Theresa Ryles of Milledgeville, his daughter, Laura Ryles Nusic (Benji) of San Antonio, Texas, two sons, Mark MeCandless of Ohio, Levi Ryles (2012) of Milledgeville, three stepsons Daniel, Jonathan and Matt Screws (2007) of Milledgeville, sister, Elaine Ryles Cranford of Macon, brother, Dr. Roger C. "Bo" Ryles (Becky) of St. Simmons/Athens, two grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 until 4 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
