Lee Roy's Story
Funeral services for Mr. Lee Roy Stapp, 78, will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Williams Funeral Home Chapel of Milledgeville. Entombment will follow in Heritage Memorial Park.
The family received friends at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory in Milledgeville on Monday from 6 until 8 pm.
Mr. Stapp passed away Feb. 3, 2018. He was a native of Morgan County and had made his home in Putnam County for a number of years before moving to Milledgeville where he had lived for over 30 years. Mr. Stapp was predeceased by his parents, George Warren Stapp and Rosa Lee Taylor Stapp; sister, Hazel Campbell; brothers, William Thomas Stapp, Lester Lee Stapp and George Raymond Stapp.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, a member of the Benevolent Lodge No. 3 Free and Accepted Masons, The York Rite Body, The Al Shiah Shrine, Eastern Star, American Legion, Oconee Elks Lodge and the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Braxley Stapp of Milledgeville; sons, Lee Roy Stapp Jr. (Brandi), Morgan Stapp (Luann), Eric Stapp, (Christi), and Warren Stapp all of Eatonton; daughters, Melissa Clark and Bonnie Murphey of Cordele; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
