Laura Colquitt's Story
Laura Colquitt Prosser, 81, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Seagraves, the Rev. Ed White and the Rev. Scott Meneely officiating. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Prosser was born in Russell County, AL and grew up in Columbus, GA and was a graduate of Columbus High School. She moved to Atlanta to attend Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. After graduation she moved to Milledgeville and started her nursing career at Baldwin County Hospital and retired from Oconee Regional Medical Center with 35 years of service. Mrs. Prosser was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Boyers and Grace Marie Curington Colquitt; her siblings, J.P. Colquitt, Charles William Colquitt, Lillian Grace Yarbrough, Mary Louise Darkow and Betty Jane Robinson. She was a member of Pathfinders Christian Church and the Macon Sewing Club.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Brad Prosser of Milledgeville; her sons, Randy Prosser (Bobette) of Milledgeville and Bill Prosser (Karen) of Poquoson, VA; a brother, Roy Colquitt of Seale, AL; three sisters, Nell Falbo of Orlando, FL, Minnie Perry of Locust Grove, VA and Christine Johnson of Columbus and two grandchildren, Kayla and Drew Prosser.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 4 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
