Larry Smith Searcy age 76, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Patrick Rainey officiating. Burial will follow at Scenic Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Searcy was a native of Moultrie but made his home in Milledgeville. He received his B.A. from St. Leo University. He served for over 30 years in the United States Navy and the United States Coast Guard, retiring as Chief Petty Officer. Mr. Searcy was a retired Sargent with the Georgia Department of Corrections.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn Leverette Searcy of Milledgeville, son Jason Searcy (Melinda) of Ivey, 3 daughters, Tracy Searcy of Las Vegas, Vickey Rainey of Milledgeville and Vonnie Cesar (Brian) of Tyrone, a brother David Searcy (Robbie) of Norman Park, 4 grandchildren, Brandon Tolksdorf, Joseph Rainey (Mallory), Rev. Patrick Rainey and Emily Cesar.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
