Mr. John Mobley Stanley, 89, passed away on Jan. 27, 2018 surrounded by family at his home. He was born June 22, 1928, in Milledgeville where he spent his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Furman Veazey and Mable Lavender Stanley.
He was an accomplished mechanical engineer, a very talented tool and die maker, a WWII Navy veteran having served in the Pacific Theater and was retried from Grumman.
He is survived by his partner of 25 years, Elaine Yates; two sons, Charles M. Stanley (Wanda) and Ronald Ira Stanley; sister, Deanne Stanley Spivey; grandson, John Albert Stanley; nephews, Fundy Stewart and David Spivey, all of Milledgeville, several cousins; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and extended family, Martha Ann Adkins, Julia Michelle Warren, and Ashley Nichole Lamb.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans or the Georgia Sheriff's Association Boys Ranch.
