John  Sinclair Jr.


John Russell Sinclair Jr, 69, passed away on July 9, 2019. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, at Memory Hill Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 11, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
John was born on Fort Benning Army Base in Fort Benning, Ga. and grew up in Columbus, Ga. He graduated from Stewart County High School in 1969 and joined the United States Air Force in 1971. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War with stations including Warner Robins AFB, Loring AFB in Maine and Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota. While proudly serving his country for 21 years he held several positions including ground crew member for the B-52 as well as crew chief on the B-1 Bomber and KC-135. Throughout his career he was awarded numerous honors and recognized for many distinctions due to his exceptional performance and commitment before being honorably discharged in 1992 at the rank of technical sergeant.
He then relocated his family to his wife's hometown of Milledgeville where he raised his family. John was an outdoorsman throughout his life. He was a strong man who loved his family, humorous, dependable and enjoyed life through his family.
He is survived by his faithful wife of 42 years, Mary Sinclair; three children, Kristen (Thimothy) Burris of Irwinton, Ga., John Russell Sinclair III (Katie Burgan) of Macon, Ga., Shawn (Kelley) Sinclair of Dallas, Ga. and nine grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received after the ceremony at the Sinclair residence.
