John Shock John Wilford Shock, 81, of Milledgeville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018. A native of Columbia, Mo., he was born on Sept. 26, 1937. He was the son of the late Wilford Shock and the late Mrs. Mary Brown Shock. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tom Howard, and by an aunt, Catherine Brown. Mr. Shock was self-employed as a furniture and cabinetmaker, and a member of the United Methodist Church. He was a 50-year Mason, and a member of Macon Lodge No. 5, F& AM.
Mr. Shock is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Rachel Shock of Milledgeville; one step-daughter, Virginia (and Herman) Wharton of Oxford, Pa.; two sisters, Johanna Howard and Abbie Bonham, both of Columbia, Mo.; two grandsons, Alexander and Zachary Wharton; special niece and nephew, Ade and Brian Adams; nine nieces and nephews; and a "special son," Rob (and Kristin) Freeman of Omaha, Neb.
Funeral services for Mr. John Wilford Shock will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to: The Masonic Children's Home, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, Ga. 31211, or to The Chard Wray Food Pantry, 730 N. Wayne St., Milledgeville, Ga. 31061.
