Mr. John Evans Bryant, Sr., 90, passed away Feb. 9, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Lake Country Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Brantley officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
Mr. Bryant was a native of Douglas and had made his home at Lake Sinclair since 1986. He was the son of the late William Cullen and Ardelia Joyce Bryant, and was predeceased by his wife, Betty Douglas Bryant; daughter, Bonnie Hufstetler; brothers, William "Bill" Bryant, Jack Bryant, Warren "Don" Bryant and Jimmy Bryant; and sisters, Lizzie Harper, Fannie Cleland and Gertrude Drew. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and the Air Force, having served in WWII. He also retired from Robins Air Force base and Dausett Trails and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a volunteer firefighter and a member of Lake Country Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He is survived by daughters, Denise Massey of Lake Sinclair and Yvonne Webler (Jay) of Lilburn; sons, John "Jay" Bryant Jr. of White, and Derek Little of Cartersville; brother-in-law, Mike Hufstetler (Joy) of Milledgeville; grandchildren, David Hufstetler, Mike Hufstetler Jr. (Amy), Matthew Webler (Kirsten), James Webler, Jonathan Webler, Elizabeth Roberts (Jason), Rebecca Webler, Sarah Massey, Savannah Massey and Bryant Massey; great grandchildren, Riley Hufstetler, Dylan Hufstetler, Katie Roberts, Kenzie Roberts and William Roberts; brothers, Ralph, Orville, Charles and Joyce Bryant; sisters, Patricia Yaughn and Mary Jane Kite.
Flowers accepted and for those who wish expressions of sympathy may be made to Lake Country Baptist Church or Dausett Trails.
