Jerry E.'s Story
Jerry E. Tapley, 82, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Joe McDaniel officiating. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. to service time at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Jerry was born in Alston, GA to the late John Rozier Tapley and Annie Ruth Walker Tapley. He was a 1954 graduate of Lanier High School and served in the United States Army. Jerry was retired from Armstrong World Industries after 43 years of service as a maintenance supervisor. He was an avid bowler for 50 years in Macon and Milledgeville and was on the Board of Equalization for Putnam County. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife; Lanette Tapley, daughters; Cindy Crowley, Karen (Toby) Clubb, grandchildren; Cassie Crowley, Jarrett (Haley) Clubb, Payne Clubb, two great grandchildren; Jacie and Clary, four brothers; Leon Tapley, Ralph (Pat) Tapley, Joel (Jackie) Tapley and James Tapley, sister; Deborah (Danny) Elliott, sister-in-law; Colleen Favors, and several nieces and nephews.
