James T.'s Story
James T. Dillard age 91, passed away Friday, June 23. 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Dillard was born in Davisboro, Georgia but had lived in Milledgeville since 1948. He worked at the Fuse Plant and J.P. Stevens serving as a Department Manager before retiring in 1991. He was preceded in death by his parents George Bascom Dillard and Mildred Dent Dillard, a daughter Mary Ann Clack, his brother Bascom Dillard, Jr., and a sister Alice Maude Hattaway. Mr. Dillard loved his family and was a true Southern Gentleman. He loved Gospel Music, watching Westerns and the Atlanta Braves. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years Mary Minter Dillard, a son and three daughters, Jimmy Dillard and his wife Claudette and Lisa Castillo and her husband Armando all of Milledgeville, Fay Womack and her husband John of Alpharetta and Gina Wise and her husband Carl of Griffin, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at Moores Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pine Point Hospice, 6261 Peake Rd. Macon, GA 31210.
