James Franklin "Jimmy"'s Story

James Franklin "Jimmy" Cheely, Jr. age 80, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016. Services will be held at 1PM Wednesday, November 23, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Smith officiating.
Mr. Cheely was a native of Hancock County and a graduate of Sparta High School. He attended Middle Georgia College and Austin Peavy University where he played football. Mr. Cheely was a dairy farmer and logger for many years and operated C&W Mini Mart for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Mary Will Brown Cheely, his wife Priscilla Walls Cheely and a brother Carl Cheely. Jimmy was an avid and life-long Georgia Bulldog Fan.
Survivors include two sons, Vaughn Cheely (Leigh Ann) of Watkinsville, and Rickey Cheely of Atlanta and his daughter Debbie Cheely Thomas (Brad) of Milledgeville, his sister Nita Bradford (Tony) of Milledgeville, 3 grandchildren, Blake Thomas, Eli Cheely and Omi Cheely.
The family will receive friends 12:30 until 1:00 PM at Moores Funeral Home.
