Hiram Eugene Witcher Hiram Eugene Witcher, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, passed away Nov. 24, 2018, in Milledgeville. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, in the Monroe Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. Hiram was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Wyeth Laboratories, Inc. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis Cawley & Rachel Moon Witcher, and his sister, Shirley Shelnutt. Hiram is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Witcher of Milledgeville; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and James "Chip" Johnson of Milledgeville, Karen and Ned Couch of Mansfield, Gena and Brian Morris of McDonough; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Walt Hutchings of Eatonton; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their gratitude to his caregivers for the last four years: Hospice Care Options, Chaplinwood Health and Rehabilitation and Gateway Healthcare Agency. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, Ga. 30346. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at the Tim Stewart Home, 209 S. Hammond Drive, Monroe, Ga. 30655. 770-267-2594.
